2007 # GRAPHICS, CURATING, WRITING
October 2007, London
The book happened to be a visual examination, mapping both political and cultural implications of migration on our lives. Using a variety of media I have tried to identify different phenomena of being here, there and elsewhere. Display formats include photographs, typography, text, film and other documents, whose unidentified protagonists undergo the desire and fear to leave, be displaced, travel and return home. Hence a descriptive collection of material in the form of a book evolved. In examining how migration both defines and erodes identity, my work questions the pleasure of migration and locality and shows that there is no contradiction between travelling and being at home ... it is rather a dialectic experience.
